Stephen hawking, a famous astrophysicist warned that humans must colonize another planet or face extinction. He moved up his deadline to 100 years by saying there is no enough time left for human race to survive on this earth.
Hawking’s and his former student Christophe Galfred will embark on a worldwide tour to find out how humans could survive on another planet.
He announced an apocalypse on this planet with in a century and suggested that colonising another planet is the only way to survive. He also warned the risk of artificial intelligence ending man kind.
While the evidence to support this theory is being prepared with the help of Space X CEO Elon Musk and Jack Ma ,many normal people and scientists across the world think otherwise.
Rick Dack ,who calls himself a bible defender from Minnesota says “ I tend not to believe this single man and believe in the bible and what it says because that gives me a hope. No man can be sure of the future and whats going to happen .”
Dr.Arun Dalaya , a professor in science department from Bangalore university suggests that there is no need to panic on the announcement and he shared his opinion on this topic by saying
“ Stephen hawking previously in last November confirmed that there is enough time about 1000 years to escape from this planet and suddenly moves his deadline up. Colonizing another might definitely give us a hope but doing that in the right way might only bring us fruitful results. And yet we did not even find any other planet habitable ,how can we even think of colonizing and panicking about all that in just 100 years of time?”
He also added that right now there are many things we need to focus like saving the planet we live in instead of planning to escape into another planet like earth that doesn’t exist so far.
Laura Kates, 22, a Master’s student in physics department from University of Central Lancashire says “ I know he is a great physicist and smart but I think earth we live in is smarter than him and knows how to take care of itself. But there might be dangerous consequences if we continue doing what we are doing right now.”
Like there is always two sides of a coin, physicists around the world are divided on this topic, supporting and resisting Hawking’s theory.
